His mother was one of the descendant of an embassy led by Hasekura Tsunenaga. Instead of returning to Japan in 1617, six samurai remained in Coria del Río, near Seville. In the 1940’s when the possibility of war came, she with several of her kin fled the threat of being imprisoned due to her Japanese lineage despite of having Spanish in her as well. She made it to Japan and met Miguel’s father a soon to be kamikaze pilot. Once the war came, he never came back and she with her now toddler son kept on the run until she met up with the Tzimisce that would change Miguel forever.
Ravensburg was there in Japan for the death, radiation and bountiful fear were intoxicating to him; he loved the experimental possibilities alone. When he found Miguel and his mother, the mother didn’t last long...Miguel on the other hand having that fierce look in his eyes made Ravensburg take him to train him as a ghoul. Oh no ordinary ghoul, not one that stayed the same in face, Raven forced growth on the body, and he disciplined Miguel’s mind, formed it...shaped it...honing that which was not human in the boy. Hardening him more over what the war and losing his parents did.
Once Raven had the boy to the correct looking age, he ghouled him to stay that way, then after 50 years of pain and training Raven was caught unawares by the very child he thought to sire. Miguel tricked Raven and on that fateful day took what he thought was his...he took blood and his ‘sire’s’ life and position.
